Clean Community Partnership Powers Growth for Assist ME

At Assist ME, our mission is simple but ambitious: eliminate barriers to healthcare access by providing free medical and mobility equipment to those who need it most. Today, thanks to the support and ingenuity of Clean Community, Inc., we are about to take this mission further than ever before.

Clean Community, a leader and certified partner in Zoho technology, has empowered us with a custom-built system through Zoho Creator. Their talented team listened closely to our needs and responded with a creative, flexible tool that transforms the way we serve patients, manage inventory, and coordinate with our referral partners.

The new platform reduces the number of steps required to process an application and ensures timely communication with both patients and referral sources when equipment is ready for pickup. Ensuring rapid and reliable communication, we can now process applications more efficiently—so every dollar and donated item has the maximum impact. Barcode scanning and automated notifications keep every piece of equipment accounted for, reducing loss and making sure patients and referral sources always know when vital items are ready for pickup. Unclaimed equipment is now tracked at the click of a button—helping us turn every donation into new hope for someone in need.

Looking ahead, the system’s real-time low-inventory alerts and location features will be vital as we expand our reach beyond Charlotte, bringing equity in healthcare access to more cities across North Carolina. With tools like these—and with your continued generosity—Assist ME can multiply the impact of every donation, ensuring that no patient is left behind due to lack of medical or mobility equipment.

Acknowledging Key Contributors and Supporters

The success of our new system would not have been possible without the dedication and expertise of both the Clean Community, Inc. team led by Founder and CEO Stevie Burke and our committed Assist ME volunteers. Jack Sheehan, James Dye, and Rod Tatum played pivotal roles, devoting countless hours to thoroughly test the system and ensure that it operates at the highest level of functionality. Their perseverance and attention to detail have been invaluable in refining our processes and maximizing the impact of our work.

In particular, Rod Tatum went above and beyond by not only developing comprehensive training materials but also leading the training for the volunteers who manage daily application and equipment processing. His efforts have ensured that our team is fully equipped to use the new platform effectively, making our operations smoother and more efficient.

We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to The Charlotte Women’s Club for their generous grant of $5,700, which has been instrumental in advancing our Zoho project. Their support has enabled us to implement these vital improvements, furthering our mission to expand access to essential medical and mobility equipment for those in need.

Clean Community’s partnership represents more than just technology; it is a major step forward in our fight against healthcare inequity. By supporting Assist ME, you are helping us build a healthier, more just future for all—starting here in our community and reaching outward, with compassion and innovation, city by city.

Our supporters are also a part of this journey. Your support truly matters now more than ever as Assist ME builds capacity to improve our community support.
