THREE New Volunteer Ops: March 2026

Assist ME is an all-volunteer organization experiencing a substantial growth spurt! We are seeking experienced individuals who exude passion and creativity to take us to the next level through marketing, social media and event planning.

Event Planner / Event Lead (Volunteer)

We seek a committee lead for our 2nd Annual Wheels & Walker-thon at Park Road Park on September 12, 2026.  Responsibilities include managing online and event day registrations, and campaign updates via Givebutter.com (training available), order rentals, signage and supplies, purchase and distribute incentive gifts (pick-up or by mail), coordinate volunteers via SignUp Genius, provide basic event communications, and manage event-day logistics (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.).  Your ability to recruit or manage a committee would help distribute the workload!

Must be local to Charlotte with prior event or fundraising experience, attention to detail, ability to work 2-10 hours per week as soon as possible, plus extended hours as needed the week leading to and day of event as needed to complete tasks. Commitment through October 1, 2026 requested to complete reporting and donor thank you’s post-event. The board will manage sponsorships, vendors, permits and media. Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising is the key to our success!

Note: Event day volunteer signups will begin in July 2026 – Corporate teams are welcome!

Marketing & Graphic Design Volunteer

We’re seeking a creative, self-directed volunteer who loves visual storytelling and wants to use their design skills to support a mission-driven organization. This role is perfect for a recently retired or semi-retired designer, or a currently working creative who enjoys meaningful, flexible volunteer work about 1-4 hours a week or on a project basis.

You’ll help shape the look and feel of our outreach by designing print and digital materials for general marketing, event and fundraising campaigns.  Projects to include toolkits, flyers, banners, T-shirt designs, and an 8–12 page booklet mailer. You’ll adapt existing stories into fresh visuals, develop new royalty-free content, and maintain brand consistency. If you enjoy social media, there’s also room to create templates and content for our platforms for a cohesive campaign feel (see role below).

We’re looking for someone with experience in Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, or similar tools, and who brings strong layout and typography skills. Creativity, initiative, and the ability to work independently are essential.

This is a flexible commitment through December 2026 with occasional virtual check-ins.

We’re Recruiting a Social Media Guru!

Help us share the Assist ME mission through uplifting, creative content! We’re looking for a volunteer to design social media posts and reels using our Canva brand kit to highlight:

  • Recipient stories
  • Volunteer spotlights
  • Sponsor features
  • Fundraising campaigns
  • Event promotions
  • Safety tips
  • Holiday messages

Create consistent posts at a minimum of 2x per week, with increased activity leading up to and during events. You’ll have full access to our Canva account and last year’s content for inspiration upon completion of an NDA.

Influencers welcome! Help us grow our reach, increase engagement, and drive click-throughs to our website.

If you can commit to a reliable schedule, love visual storytelling and want to make a local impact throughout the greater Charlotte region, we’d love to meet you.
