The 2026 Wheels & Walker-thon was more than a community event. It was an investment in mobility access across our region.

Thanks to the incredible support of sponsors, donors, participants, volunteers, and community partners, Assist ME achieved its goal of raising $30,000 after expenses. These funds will help strengthen the infrastructure behind our mission, supporting mobility equipment, technology, staffing, volunteer engagement, and the systems needed to meet growing community demand.

Throughout the day, participants connected with our sponsors under the Sponsor Pavillion to share a commitment to accessibility and independence. Special thanks to Atrium Health – Carolina’s Rehabilitation, Carolina’s Home Medical Equipment, Centro Medical Latino (CML Health) and our Accessibility Ally, Archwell Health, for the buzz of booth activity as attendees learned about local resources, discovered community partners, enjoyed interactive activities, and built new connections. The energy and engagement throughout the event demonstrated the power of bringing people together around a shared purpose.  

A special thank you goes to every donor, fundraiser, participant, and volunteer who contributed their time, talent, and resources. Because of you, Assist ME can continue growing its capacity to serve more individuals and families who depend on mobility equipment to live safely, independently, and with dignity.
