New Technology Committee Strengthens Infrastructure

As Assist ME continues to grow, we are investing in the systems, tools, and accessible pathways that will support our mission for years to come. To help lead this next phase of capacity building, we are proud to welcome three new members to our Technology Committee: Keane Matthews, Cecelia “Checha” Matthews, and Angel Han. Together, they bring a powerful blend of technical expertise, accessibility advocacy, and community-centered leadership.

Keane Matthews — Chief Technology Officer & Technology Committee Lead

Keane Matthews, CISSP, joins Assist ME as Chief Technology Officer and will lead the Technology Committee. With nearly twenty years of technology and risk-management leadership in major financial institutions—and seven years of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy—Keane brings deep experience in cybersecurity, governance, and operational resilience.

His military service aboard the USS Carr and as a Plankowner of the USS Ramage shaped his approach to teamwork, precision, and mission-first execution. After transitioning to leadership roles at U.S. Bank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and LPL Financial, Keane became known for translating complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable strategies. He holds CISSP, GSNA, and PCI ISA certifications.

Keane and Community Outreach & Development Chair Jolyn Sloan previously worked together at Bank of America, making this collaboration a natural extension of their shared commitment to service, problem-solving, and community impact. As CTO, Keane will guide Assist ME’s efforts to strengthen cybersecurity, streamline systems, and build the documentation and governance needed to support long-term growth.

Cecelia “Checha”  Matthews — Spanish Access & CRM Support

Following Keane’s leadership role, we are equally thrilled to welcome his wife, Cecelia “Checha” Matthews, whose expertise and heart for community make her a natural fit for Assist ME’s mission.

Cecelia joins Assist ME with a dual focus: supporting the Technology Committee with CRM development and providing Spanish translation and access work under the Community Outreach & Development Committee, chaired by Jolyn Sloan. Cecelia and Jolyn share a long professional history dating back to their time together at Barloworld Leading Brands, where they collaborated in roles centered on communication, process improvement, and client support. Their shared values, complementary strengths, and deep trust make this reunion especially meaningful for Assist ME.

Cecelia brings a strong background in risk, controls, and communication, along with a deep commitment to expanding equitable access. She will lead the development of Spanish-language pathways across our website, online application, and client-facing materials—an essential step in reaching underserved Latino communities and ensuring that every client can access Assist ME’s services with dignity and ease. Her CRM support will also help streamline internal workflows and strengthen our data integrity as we scale.

Angel Han — Technology Committee Member

Rounding out the team is Angel Han, a Software Engineer on the Mobile Technology team at Bank of America. Angel joined the company in 2023 after earning dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Florida. She brings a strong passion for accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring that digital experiences are usable and welcoming for everyone.

Angel first connected with Assist ME through the Apparo Tech Mentorship Program, where she worked closely with Founder & President Jack Sheehan and Community Outreach & Development Chair Jolyn Sloan. Her thoughtful approach, technical insight, and genuine interest in Assist ME’s mission made a lasting impression. When the cohort concluded, Angel expressed a desire to continue supporting the technology improvements identified through the program—an extraordinary commitment for a young professional.

Having seen family members experience falls and unexpected mobility challenges, Angel is personally motivated to help build solutions that allow individuals to navigate the world more safely and independently. As a member of the Technology Committee, she contributes her technical expertise to strengthen systems, improve user experience, and support Assist ME’s long-term technology roadmap.

A Shared Commitment to Access, Equity, and Innovation

The formation of the Technology Committee marks an important milestone for Assist ME. From inventory management and CRM development to reporting systems and multilingual access, this team will help build the infrastructure that supports our mission today and strengthens it for tomorrow.

We are thrilled to welcome Keane, Cecelia, and Angel into these leadership roles. Their expertise, passion, and shared belief in Assist ME’s mission will be invaluable as we continue to provide free medical mobility equipment to those who need it most.
