In September, Assist ME launched its first-ever signature event — the Wheels & Walker-thon — and it was a resounding success, thanks to the vision and dedication of Jolyn Sloan, our Community Outreach & Development Chair.

From the thoughtful layout of Park Road Park to the energized sponsor presence and welcoming atmosphere, Jolyn’s leadership shaped every moment. Her commitment to inclusivity and connection was felt by all — especially the volunteers, whose experience she elevated with care and appreciation by providing food vouchers redeemable through the onsite food vendors.

“The event was the result of tireless planning and heart,” said Assist ME Board Chair Henry Lander. “And through it all, Jolyn’s husband Jim was right there beside her, offering steadfast support and teamwork that made the day even more impactful. 

Even as the final walkers and rollers crossed the finish line, Jolyn was already looking ahead — driven to grow and refine the event for next year. Her leadership has inspired confidence and earned the full support of the Board.
