Assist ME Awarded NC Medical Society Alliance Spring 2026 Grant

Assist ME is honored to be selected as one of the NC Medical Society Alliance’s Spring 2026 grant recipients. This round of funding focused on expanding access to health care across North Carolina, with an emphasis on smaller nonprofits serving underserved and rural communities.

We are proud to be recognized alongside three other organizations making meaningful impact across the state:

  • Community Care Clinic of Highlands-Cashiers
  • Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry
  • FIGS of Wake County

The Alliance highlighted nonprofits improving access to care through free clinics, prescription assistance, and durable medical equipment — a mission deeply aligned with our work to ensure every neighbor has the mobility support they need to live safely and independently. In this case, our focus is on Anson County, which saw a 300% increase in recipients from 2024 to 2025 thanks to our expanding medical referral partnerships. Grant funds will be used to purchase brand-new mobility equipment for Atrium Health Anson, strengthening our ability to meet rising needs in one of the region’s most underserved communities.

We are grateful for this recognition and for the Alliance’s commitment to strengthening health equity across North Carolina. Their support helps us continue expanding access to mobility equipment for uninsured and under-insured residents throughout the greater Charlotte region and beyond. For more information on how Assist ME uses funding for the MOVE (Mobility, Opportunity & Vital Equipment) Program, please review our 2025 Impact Report, stay updated through our Mobility Matters Blog and follow us on social media through LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook!
